Lets Play The Blame Game

Barack Obama have been, smeared with these false e-mails about him being a Muslim.  Now Muslims are mad at Obama because of the Fight The Smears website among other things.  This just put Obama in a lose lose situation.

The Hill reported yesterday that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), confronted Obamaduring a closed door session of the CBC (Congressional Black Caucus).  Apparently he got so loud that Kilpatrick (D-MI) had to bring order to the room.  Obama then allowed Ellison to continue to voice his opinion and then apologize for the controversy and explained that he did not request for the women o be removed (from rally in MI) but, that it was the volunteers who took it upon themselves to do so.  Ellison, I imagine, was also angry because he says the Obama campaign aides didn’t want Ellison to campaign in a mosque for Obama because of possible controversy.

Today this religious zealot on the radio James Dobson goes after Obama on a speech he gave a few years ago.  In the speech Obama talks about how even though he doesn’t approve of abortion for religious reasons that as president he would have to obey the constitution and be a president of all Americans.  What’s so wrong with upholding the constitution you ask?  Well I don’t know but apparent Dobson seems to think that Obama is misinterpreting the bible.  First, Obama was talking about his faith but, that when president you can’t override the constitution.  We have had a president who hasn’t had respect for the constitution and now Obama, a constitutional law professor, is being attacked because he wants to respect the constitution and the separation of church and state.  Well I will let you guys pander that.

UPDATE Some religous leaders are speaking out against James Dobson and released this website http://www.jamesdobsondoesntspeakforme.com/

Well, I want to get back to the lose lose situation that Obama is in.  He’s being attacked by Muslims for forcefully denying hes a Muslim while being attack by christian extremists for not upholding their un-American views on the Constitution while being attack by people who hate Muslims and blacks.  I mean this guy isn’t going to be able to please everyone.

First, Muslims don’t like the fact that Obama is forcefully denying the Muslim rumors without telling people that its ok to be a Muslim.  The thing is, is that he has said this before.  When he points out these false e-mails about him being a Muslim; first, he says that the e-mails are false and then he says that if he was a Muslim, that it shouldn’t matter.  Obama can’t do it all.  What I personally think is that more Muslims should be on TV mainly the cable news networks randomly.  By randomly I mean, you know, giving political analysis and talking more about politics.  This way people get used to seeing Muslims and it could diminish the impact of these false accusations about Muslims.  Also some Muslims want him to campaign in a mosque just like he does when speaking at a church or a synagogue.  Well I don’t think with all that has went on with these smear e-mails that he would want to put fuel on the fire.  Could you imagine every news station would be all over this and hate-filled people like Sean Hannity would just love for Obama to do that. I don’t think people should be blaming Obama for what has happened in this campaign as far as prejudice against Muslims, people should really be going after the republicans especially Sean Hannity to stop this because they are the ones that spread this hateful stuff and all Obamawants to do is be president for all kinds of Americans.  Im in no position to be telling Muslims what to do but, I just think there are other people to put the blame on for the public spike in bigottry towards Muslims

Second, Im not going to say that what James Dobson thinks is a lose for Obama.  The fact that Obama is being attacked for protecting the constitution is a win for Obama.  But this could be a lose because Dobson has a following that probably believes and votes based on what he says which is weird and cult like (Im sorry I just had to say it).

I also wanted to say that stumbling upon a still bitter Hillary blog (guess they didn’t get the memo about the primaries being over), they said that the sexism against Michelle Obama was because of, get this….OBAMA.  Also a racist lady Paula Abeles was on FOX news and of course she was on FOX News because they love to show Hillary supporters that now support McCain.  She blamed that fact that people are calling her racist on, get this… OBAMA.  I would say that she is racist.  She didn’t want the Black descendants of Thomas Jefferson to come to the Jefferson dinner and she succeeded because they weren’t allowed, now that is racist.  I also love her answer for supporting McCain.  She said, if you look narrowly then on the issues Clinton and Obama are close…. but, if you look broadly then Clinton and McCain are close.  What the hell…. First I would say duh you are supposed to be looking narrowly at the plans of the candidate.  Second I would say that Clinton and McCain are not even broadly related in any way.  First I have never seen McCain throw down shots of beer like Clinton did and second…what the hell.

So lets just stop blaming Obama for everyones problems.

Yeah, was there some precedent I missed for christian candidates campaigning inside mosques? Why doe Obama all of a sudden have to? Even when candidates do speak in churches they aren’t usually listed as campaign events (though they often become one) like the last time obama spoke in church he spoke to black men in the black community. It’s not as if forcing black men to be bette fathers is part of his presidential platform. He was talking about church issues.

It’s not even a PR issue for Obama. The people who would be shocked into believing Obama’s a muslim by his appearance at a mosque aren’t likely Obama fans anyways. I mean, we should never look to radicalize parts of the electorate but if people are xenophobicly afraid of islam they need to be flushed out and dealt with anyways.

Also, i had some paula abeles defenders find my blog about a week ago or so and some post i made critical of harold ickes. They are not, dropped 40 comments in 10 minutes, expecting me to respond to them all, calling me sexist, racist, naive, stupid… you name it. If they go republican the democrats are better for it.

I agree with everything but I do think he should make a clearer statement on his fight the smear website about nothing wrong with being a muslim and that he is a christian and he is specifically addressing the smears of relating muslims to terrorists or Islamofascists or however he wants to phrase it.
To state that being called a muslim on an anti smear website sounds like being called a muslim is a smear and something undesirable.
He really should be more sensitive to that.

BTW, as far as that witch on Fox and others I really don’t believe she is/was a Hillary supporter. There are many out there who are Republicans stirring up trouble.

On the other hand there really are some/many Hillary people who still have not come on board for Obama and name calling, sarcasm and baiting them is not going to bring them aboard.
They feel their complaints or viewpoints are legitimate (as do you) and telling them they aren’t is only going to force them into a more entrenched position.

    So is calling them racists.

Since none of the above tactics are working how about listening to them and saying something like I understand your viewpoint and I can see how you might see it that way however I experienced it differently. Being kind and listening workss wonders I’ve found.

Plese stop calling these sites Hillary sites.
They really aren’t, they are the sites of people who are her supporters and are creating their own movement.

Frankly I think its good for Democracy.

I agree with both you guys. I always thought that at least 5% of the Hillary supporters in the polls saying they were voting for McCain are definitely republicans. And maybe he should make it clearer on his website on the Muslim issue but I really think that his personal apology was enough and he doesn’t have to goto a mosque to prove himself in some way.

And I definitely am not trying to call all Hillary supporters racist but Paula Abeles is. There are not any issues concerning Hillary supporters that Obama either hasn’t talked about or doesn’t have a plan for available on his website. And I didn’t know calling them Hillary blogs was offensive you can call my blog an Obama blog. Look a movement of resentment is not cool, and as a women I think these kinds of movements are mistakenly being called “women’s movements” when (some of) them aren’t. But I really am just referring to the extremely harsh bitter blogs. I have plenty of friends who were Hillary supporters one of which is a contributor on this site. So I definitely don’t think the majority of Hillary supporters are racist, just the obvious ones are (a.k.a. Paula Abeles).

I agree Obama shouldn’t have to do any of that stuff to please people, He already apologize and it wasn’t his fault in the first place.
