Obama Wrote A New Book

It’s titled “Change We Can Believe In: Barack Obama’s Plan to Renew America’s Promise”.  The book is supposed to be about policy and show off his policy wonk side of him.  I don’t know why this is necessary seeing as how compared to McCain everyone could be considered a policy wonk.

It’s set to release on September 9.  According to AP they have already printed 300,000 copies and the book will cost $13.95, not bad of a price.

Also, AP reports,

Financial terms were not available, although Barnett says the campaign will donate all net proceeds to a charity still to be determined. The new release was assembled over the past few weeks and is not part of the senator’s current deal with Crown, which calls for him to write two more books, including a children’s book.

So expect a children’s book too. That should be fun.  Also the book will be competing in stores with Bob Woodward’s fourth volume on the Bush administration.

Book basically includes Obama’s policies, such as; healthcare, economy, foreign affairs, and energy.  Book will also include speeches Obama has given in the past.  Obama is know by his colleagues for being a policy wonk and I suspect this book will show it.  I also suspect the book will be a best seller, how many people would choose a book, FOURTH VOLUME on BUSH administration over a POLICY book about Obama.  Even McCain’s campaign would buy the book, because Im sure they will be scratching for ways to attack Obama.  Ok so maybe people would buy a book about the Bush administration for juicy details about how they lied, but I will buy the policy book because reading about policy is more fun then people think.

##UPDATE##

Just a little fun note, The Hill reports, “Pre-orders for the book have already pushed it to 2,257 on Amazon’s sales rank, 3,902 spots ahead of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) book “Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters.”

I look forward to reading Obama’s ” Change We Can Believe In.”

His Children’s Book will also no doubt be a best seller. You can hear, and see his great concern for children. As he continues to speak words of wisdom, care, and warmth for all children…and their parents.

A book on Policy will be a good contrast to a “Swift Boat” Attack book. Vol4 from Woodward is important also. We know Bush/Cheney have lied. But if he can give us a “smoking gun” the Congress must take “Swift Action” and remove the two of them. It will go a long way to recovering America’s Ideals, Values and “The Rule of Law”. Mdm Pelosi, read my lips: “Put it back on the table.” I love the way it sounds: Mdm President (if only for 84 days).

All proceeds go to charity… Good. Perhaps then it might be possible to convince some uninformed anti-Obama voters to check it out without them fearing that they’d be contributing financially to Obama.
