Barack Obama was in Golden, CO yesterday, and he gave a speech. Considering the crisis on Wall St. you can probably guess the speech was about the economy and what he suggest we do to fix this crisis. Obama in his speech gave clear distinct answers to what he would do. So, I thought why not get back on the issues an talk about the economy. So, first I recommend you watch all of Obama’s speech that he gave yesterday, because it’s important as voters that we become educated and vote on the issues and not on personality. Also below you will find Obama’s voting record on the economy and what his plans are to fix the economy.
So, here I would like to present you with Obama’s voting record in the US senate and Obama’s current economic and tax plans. First, about Obama’s voting record, I quote myself on this one from an earlier post, anyways here’s his record,
Barack Obama has always been for tax reform. Even when he was in the Illinois state senate and know in the U.S. senate he has always supported tax reform. He has helped to give tax credit for those with children, expanding the EIC, and research and development see here. Obama has co-sponsored a Working Family Child Assitance Act which gives money back to families with children. Along with Evan Bayh, Obama co-sponsored the Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act which would prevent last minute adding of earmarks to bills and lets the American people see how much in earmarks are being spent and what those elusive earmarks are. He also has a number of other issues that you can see by clicking below.
Barack Obama’s current economic and specifically tax plan is simple. If your making more then $250,000 you will pay the same amount of taxes you paid in 1990. If you make less than that, then you will see a drastic lowering in the taxes you pay, and he wants to make it so that seniors won’t have to pay taxes if they make less than $50,000. He also wants to reform the tax system to make it simpler and would also save the government money. Barack wants to install a windfall profit tax on oil companies and give Americans $1,000 in an energy rebate, something McCain doesn’t want to do, and by the way, Palin did it in Alaska and it worked…last time I’ll ever say that. Obama has always been oppose not to free trade, but the free trade agreements as they are now. He wants to renegotiate NAFTA and CAFTA because in the industrial states they don’t help the middle class gain jobs. He wants to end tax breaks for companies who ship jobs overseas. He wants to invest in green collar jobs and other manufacturing jobs. Obama wants to give a tax relief for small business owners, and help employers lower their healthcare premium for workers. Obama supports the Employee Free Choice Act, so that they have the freedom to unionize and fight for workers rights. He has more parts of his economic plan that you can see if you click below on Barack’s Economic Plan
So, now I have given you Obama’s record and plan when it comes to the economy and your money, now it’s time for you to educate yourself more on Obama’s plans. So, below I have listed websites, where you can see Obama’s voting record and his current plans. Remember it’s time to get educated on the issues and the candidate. This is not a personality contest, so get educated, and vote on the issues.

Sensico, excellent post. Great concise information! Thank you!
No problem, when I first started this blog I stuck mainly to the issues, so I thought I’d get back to doing that.
