McCain Lied 2 Letterman, How Honorable…

That he can’t even stand up to David Letterman.  Basically McCain personally called Letterman and said he was canceling his appearance to go to Washington yet, he was just right down the street doing an interview with Couric.  This reminds me of when people lie to their boyfriend about why they are breaking up with them.  I don’t see why McCain thought it was compelling to lie the Letterman, I’m sure he would have been understanding if McCain could have just told the truth.  If McCain is willing to lie about something so insignificant as this, then what would happen when he enters the White House.  Here’s the Drudge Report newflash and video is below,

EXCLUSIVE: LETTERMAN MOCKS MCCAIN CANCELLATION
Wed Sep 24 2008 17:41:58 ET

David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy.

Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?"

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil."

"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?"

"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

Developing...

How weak of McCain.

##UPDATE##

The whole clip is great, but he really starts slamming McCain around 6:30

Sensico, just in case you don’t make it back to my blog, here’s how I answered your comment. And thanks for pointing out the video. Yes, I shameless stole it (but credited you).

Sensico, I heard this as well about the make-up artist.

McCain used to LOVE to hobnob with celebs. I heard Arianna speak once (and she wrote about this as well), how at a Hollywood dinner party after the 2000 election McCain said he did NOT vote for George Bush, and Cindy said she wrote in McCain.

McCain then denied it, but Bradley Whitford and others who were there confirmed they heard him say it.

He SO much wants to be a big celeb. That’s why he lashed out with that ad against Obama using Britney and Paris. He’s jealous.

He hired an American Idol make-up artist. (Guess he and the Rethugs can’t talk anymore about John Edwards and his $400 haircuts.)

Johnny’s running to get an Oscar.

God bless Letterman! Sure does con firm McCain being desperate to do anything to appear presidential. If one was attempting to give McCain the benefit of the doubt that this cry of his to suspend his campaign wasn’t just a cheap political stunt Letterman sure blew that out of the water. This man tells me country first but then pulls this kind of stunt. What a crock!
