This post is just about all the things that have been going on at McCain and Palin rallies that should worry some of us middle of the road, normal people. The McCain and Palin rallies are getting more and more negative and more and more racists, extremist, and is filled with hatred of not only Obama, but people who don’t look like them, and also no sympathy for the fact that Biden lost his wife. One of the video below shows McCain supporters LAUGHING when Biden choked up while talking about his first wife’s death, and his sons injuries. The reason I think it’s a breeding ground for racists and hatred in general is because, you can go to a McCain/Palin rally and not see a diverse group that really represents America. These people have a safe place to go if they don’t want to be around blacks, latinos, or latte drinking college students (that includes me).
These people are hostile and spew hatred, and they aren’t afraid to do that in front of people. This suggest that this has gone beyond the normal way supporters treat the opposition. Also, these people are spewing hatred in front of McCain and Palin, and yet they allow this to go on. McCain and Palin are enablers of the type of Americans that should be locked up somewhere. I am quite surprised that the campaign would allow this to happen, I am happy I’m not a McCain supporter. I would never want to be a supporter of a campaign that would allow these things to happen and set back the progress that America has made.
So, before I leave you watch the cluster of events to support my thesis, I’d like to leave you with a comment that Paulette left when addressing this issue,
If McCain/Palin is willing to create this type of environment here at home where we’re all Americans, what will he do with countries we ‘America’ don’t get along with?
McCain has no diplomacy.
I definitely don’t want to see McCain turn America into a McCain event, nor do I want McCain to help turn other countries into a cluster-fuck of hatred and racism that exist during a McCain/Palin event.
##UPDATE 6##
For now on, I’ll be posting the new footage of these occurrences, at the beginning of this post instead of at the end. So, next is a video of a guy holding the racist monkey. This was before a Palin rally in PA.
First, here’s what one lonely sound man had to endure during a Palin rally,
Worse, Palin’s routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric’s questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, “Sit down, boy.”
Also, from TPM,
As I noted below, in his piece today about the abuse that Palin supporters heaped on reporters at a Florida rally yesterday, WaPo’s Dana Milbank wrote that one supporter had hurled an unspecified racial epithet at an African American sound man before saying, “sit down, boy.”
A reporter who was there tells me what that unspecified epithet was: “Uppity negro.”
Late Update: I should have made it clearer that this happened at a rally where Palin was stoking anger by attacking Katie Couric and the “mainstream media.”
Next, heres a video of a supporter yelling “treason”, what is this, McCain/Palin rallies are sounding more and more fascist by the day,
Here’s what a supporter in Florida said during a Palin rally,
“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.
“Boooo!” said the crowd.
“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.
“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.
“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.
Then, here’s another video except this one is at a McCain rally where a McCain supporter yells out “terrorist, kill him”, McCain wasn’t even honorable enough to stand up and say that was inappropriate.
And, here’s the video of McCain supporters laughing at Joe Biden (happens at around 2:30), when he chokes up while talking about how his first wife died in an accident and his kids were injured. I can’t even believe McCain supporters are this insensitive, aren’t they supposed to be in bible school, learning about loving thy neighbor, learning about compassion.
This is the worst kind of politics, and they shouldn’t be awarded for it.
##UPDATE###
McCain supporter yell “off with his head“. Like I suggested before, this is getting more and more weirder and more un-American. We should not be seriously using the phrase “off with his head” in the year of 2008.
As seen at recent McCain events, this afternoon’s crowd was vocal in their support for McCain and their anger with Senator Obama. At one point one man could be heard yelling, “Off with his head,” when McCain spoke about Obama’s tax plan. That enthusiasm was even more present during Palin’s remarks, and as other observers have reported in the past, today there was a sizeable number of people making their way towards the exit after McCain’s running mate left the podium.
I expect the secret service to be all over this.
##UPDATE 2####
Ignorance at a Palin rally. Its kind of funny, but they are really ignorant I don’t see how they can live like that.
There’s so much material, I might have to devote a page to it.
##UPDATE 3###
More McCain supporters being crazy, racists, support paying rape victims for kits, ignorant, intolerant. I think their behavior makes the best case for Obama. We need a better America, and not a president that is backed by these idiots. Video from In One Ear…Out the Other,
And some more McCain supporters used to be Hillary supporters, no offense to Hill supporters, video again from IOEOTO. I never knew people like this existed til I saw this video. Lets pray that these people will get too drunk and forget to vote. I should add that this has nothing to do with supporters at a McCain rally, I just never seen anything like this before and thought the video was interesting and very entertaining.
##UPDATE 4###
Another whacko idiot yells, “traitor”, McCain still not showing enough courage to respond,
##UPDATE 5##
Video by BlueOhioan. Asking more McCain supporters questions and…well by now I’m sure you can guess what their answers were. I for one will continue to point these people out until McCain and Palin tell these people to calm down, to not be racist, and to not incite fear and violence. I hope that isn’t asking too much.

We’ve seen wedge politics in the past, but they are taking this to a whole new low. If it continues, we are going to fear for our safety. Telling someone that you support Obama or are a Democrat could incite violence.
Yeah,
I’ve blogged this pretty heavily too, and what doesn’t worry me is that people are saying such ridiculous things; the Republicans are on the losing end of a dirty campaign right now, and they are going to be tied to that weight when it gets tossed overboard. So they’re pissed, and among the lowest common denominator that manifests itself in some crude ways.
What worries me is that the McCain isn’t saying anything to mitigate it. Not only will it sink the legacy of McCain and the party even more, but it creates tolerance for a dangerous sort of politics.
I agree, the worst thing about this whole situation is that McCain and Palin aren’t trying to stop these people. They would have been better off if they showed leadership and honor rather than just ignoring it and letting their crowds turn into a angry mob meeting.
And, the secret service is looking into that guy in the audience who said, “kill him”. In my opinion the secret service show need to be camped out in McCain/Palin audiences.
I posted today about the same thing. And quoted Lee Atwater, the famous attack dog, who, when dying of brain cancer, recanted his ways. Will Palin and McCain do the same?
Also, McCain today referred to Americans as “fellow prisoners”. Huh?… Yikes.
http://thebruceblog.wordpress.com/2008/10/08/holy-shit-at-a-rally-mccain-calls-americans-my-fellow-prisoners-video/#comments
Yeah, I saw that video earlier today. It becoming a popular viral hit.
McCain and Palin are sick Christian hypocrites. They do not love their neighbors like themselves.
God will not be mocked Sarah – He’s watching you!
None of this surprises me sadly. I work at a telecommunications company in the phone repair department. Over the past 2 weeks i’ve had one incident each week where a caller has specifically said “If Wisconsin votes for Obama, i’m coming over to kill every last one of you”.
Why is it that Republicans are so quick to threaten people with death that don’t agree with them?
The new McCain/Palin slogan:
McCain/Palin
Racism First
Where the audio clip of someone yelling KILL HIM I havent heard it anywhere I just hear and read that someone said it. Ive heard the Terrorist just not Kill HIm
Then, here’s another video except this one is at a McCain rally where a McCain supporter yells out “terrorist, kill him”, McCain wasn’t even honorable enough to stand up and say that was inappropriate
THATS CRAP YOU TELL ME WHERE IT SAYS KILL HIM….Terrorist Yes I hear it
The greatest act of treason for me is to be attacking a very popular opponent like my next US prez Barack Obama with slurs trying to relate him to terrorists when one hypocritical couple named Todd and Sarah Palin are members of the Alaskan Independence Party which is a movement to secede Alaska from the United States….now who is more patriotic?????
I am so sorry to say this but by a mile and a half…..SARAH IS PALIN IN COMPARISON TO TINA FEY!
Vote “That One” in 2008!!!!!!!
“That One”, of course is the now infamous phrase that John McCain used because he is racist and repulsed of his colored opponent who surely is the winner that he can not even mention his actual name: Barack Hussein Obama! Next President of the United States…a mighty nation that will regain its glory and honor come January 2009 when THAT ONE is formally inaugurated!
Actually what I hear from reports is that the guy said “terrorist” and then said kill him but not loudly.
Either way its wrong and this is a big disappointment to me. I sort of respected McCain but now my respect for his has just went down the drain.
As always, thanks for the link.
No problem
Sensico, I hit this topic also a couple of days ago. My contention is that McCain/Palin are accomplices to any violence that might occur between now and election day.
I keep hearing that Sarah Palin is electrifying the GOP base. I guess this is what an electrified GOP base looks like.
A great posting at Bob Cesca’s blog provides appropriate context. The central point:…my reminder is this: "Al-Qaeda" is Arabic for "The Base." Remember that the next time you see Sarah Palin working The Base. Remember that the next time you hear an American citizen shout "Kill him" or "Traitor" at a political rally-cum-seething mob. Al-Qaeda is Arabic for "The Base." Anger and resentment, tinged with overt racism and powered by a long-simmering tribal conflict - Us versus Them, Black versus White, Christian versus Muslim - needs only a plain-talking but charismatic leader to become something dangerous, something radical, something Terrible. And it is from a Base of sympathetic ideologues that such a terror often leaps, whether in a handful of aircraft-turned-missiles, or the assassin's simple bullet. The whole posting is definitely worth reading - hilarious, insightful, and sobering.(btw, according to Wikipedia, Al-Qaeda really is Arabic for "the base".)
Very clever. However, there are those of us in America who are not so easily decieved. There are those of us who do our homework, research the facts, persue what is credible, who have not been affected by the insults, who are not persuaded to believe the media and especially not people like you who have an obvious agenda in mind. Comments by many who you have interviewed, voices heard in the background at various rally’s do not represent the intelligent, educated Americans I know who are Supporting McCain and Palin. We are not what you are trying to make us out to be. I am not one to vote party, I look at each candidate individually. I disagagree with Obama and Biden on many issues. My support of McCain and Palin does not make me racist. Although many people like you are hoping that by labeling people you might somehow persuade those who fear being labled into voting for your prefered candidate. It would not suprise me in the least to find out that these “supposed McCain/Palin Supporters” at these rallies who spouted out these comments are actual Obama Supporters. Also, often times when you are standing before a group behind a mic you don’t always hear clearly what someone in the crowd is saying and it is often better to ignore a comment than bring attention to it. If something like that were said you might even question whether you heard them correctly. Sadly,I would not put it past you to edit what I have said since it does not agree with, nor support your personal views/agenda.
Amy4truth
Amy, no one is implying that all McCain supporters are like the ones in the interviews and videos, nor that all McCain supporters are racists.
We are airing our concerns that McCain is, however, pandering to those ignoramuses amongst his supporters.
Finally, as to the “behind the mic” excuse, everyone in the audience stood up and cheered. Weak oblivation.
And Finally, nice nasty attempt at making us seem like we’re word editing radicals around here. However, some of us still believe in our freedom of speech.
Thanks Marc, I couldn’t have said it better.
Obviously not all McCain supporters are whackos and racist…thank god. It is however troubling that McCain and Palin are enabling these people by not addressing them. Their crowds are getting out of control and he would score more points if he stood up like a leader and told those people to stop saying things like that.
C’mon I never edit or delete comments unless they don’t comply with my comment policy, which I think is very reasonable. Your comment is obviously appropriate Amy. But, I believe in responsible freedom of speech, I don’t want racist comments left on my blog, and those type of comments will be removed. Actually, within the first 1hr of posting this post, someone left a racist comment, which was obviously deleted
“Kill him” was said in FL. if I am not mistaken. The same place where the Black Media Man was told “Sit down Boy!” I donot know if anyonehs it on video. But it was published on line as well.
I cannot believe the hatred of people. THIS IS AN ELECTION!!! Who are these people shouting “terrorist?” This sound strangely like what was going on at Nazi rallies…people, we need to be concerned, for Americans among us are so unAmerican…that is NOT what America is about. And yet, there they are in our midst. I like McCain, though won’t vote for him. But those racists and hate-mongers in McCains rallies are simply scary unAmericans. Take it to the bank.
Yes, I agree this election has become nothing more than a breeding ground for out of control hate-mongering.
This campaign run by the McCain camp is an absolute disgrace and a slap in the face to decent Americans….this is not what America needs right now.
McCain is more interested in getting to the White House at all costs and there are NO holds barred as to how he gets there.
This is NOT a sign of TRUE LEADERSHIP when you can’t or won’t control crowds that are riled up with anger and you do nothing to stop it!!!!!
I shall be glad when this election is over as I’m so sick of the wicked disgraceful behaviour of McCain and Palin……they can’t leave this election with any kind of dignity or self respect….shameful the pair of them.
