Kind of a level of hypocrisy, at least on the part of his supporters that scream, “read the bill”. Sen. Inhofe (R-OK) told a crowd that he doesn’t have to read the bill in order to know he doesn’t like it.
At a town hall meeting Wednesday Sen. Jim Inhofe told Chickasha residents he does not need to read the 1,000 page health care reform bill, he will simply vote against it.
“I don’t have to read it, or know what’s in it. I’m going to oppose it anyways,” he said.
Inhofe said public opinion and information provided by news media have helped him become a staunch non-supporter of the bill. He said he would prefer waiting until after mid-term elections to enact reforms. He did not say nothing should be done. He simply feels that a topic as important as healthcare should not be rushed through the Senate or House of Representatives.
Isn’t it his job to be informed on what he’ll be voting for?? What’s his job then? Getting his info from the media means this idiot and apparent slacker on the job, can’t complain that MSM is lying. The MSM have done a horrible job at reporting the facts of this bill. And, if he was going based on public opinion then he needs to be supporting the public option.
Then he said, “he would prefer waiting until after mid-term elections to enact reforms”. Why? So he can use his opposition to health care reform to make it through the election and then turn around and vote for reform? What would be the purpose of waiting, Americans are hurting and paying ridiculous health care prices now. Later he goes on to say,
“People are not buying these concepts that are completely foreign to America,” Inhofe said. “We’re almost reaching a revolution in this country.”
A revolution built on ignorance obviously.

Sensico, unfortunately, the ‘Pubs don’t have a monopoly on this kind of ignorance. If I’m not mistaken it was Conyers who said he’d need two days and two lawyers to get through the bill, his excuse for not having read the whole thing.
I’d be curious what percent of legislation gets read by legislators and how much of it is summarized by staffers and the summaries get read by the actual congressmen and senators.
I’m sure most legistlation doesn’t get read by senators. But that’s the problem. These people have staunch influence on what goes on in this country and they aren’t taking it seriously enough. I looked at the H.R. 3200 PDF document. Not like they have to read the “Contents” section lol which takes up around 3-5 pages I believe. Taking into account that the lines are doouble spaced. Honestly, I’ve seen people go through a couple books in two days. If they stop going to meeting with lobbyist then I’m sure they can find the time.
As far as dems are concerned, read on HuffPo today that Rep. Marshall said he didnt read the bill and isn’t voting for it.

Hi Sensico — I think it’s healthy to have debate so that the best possible solution can be achieved in almost any issue whether it’s business or personal.
However, these Republicans — Inhofe, Enzi, Grassley, etc — are all deceitful, two faced assholes. They have NEVER EVER supported Healthcare reform even when they had the power.
From day one they had no intention of working with the Democrats. Their objective has always been to kill Healthcare reform — even when Senator Kennedy was negotiating. Grassley was their Trojan Horse. Their entire purpose is to hurt President Obama (how dare he defeat them!) and the rest of the Democrats and make them lose seats in 2010.
I don’t care if Democrats are lefties, righties or simply in the center. They ALL better get their stuff together, unite and pass a healthy healthcare reform bill.
They don’t have any options. Period.
