Protesters Get Ugly, Talk About Shooting Illegal Immigrants

This is really disturbing.  Outside of Pres. Obama’s health care town hall in New Hampshire today, health care supporters and anti-health care advocates were protesting.  Apparently, the discussion on the anti-health care side turned on illegal immigrants.  A guy in the video with a white beard said, that illegal immigrants should be shot.  Not only that, but he was quoting the same Jefferson line that the guy who brought a gun to the New Hampshire event was also quoting, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants”.  Not saying they’re related, but the fringe is definitely coming out of the works.  Meanwhile the girl in the video keeps running her mouth about Obama being a dictator.  I suspect it’ll get even worse once we enter the fall.  Video is via ConsiderThisNews,

Rep. Scott Office Vandalized With Swastika After Health Care Rant

Rep. David Scott (D-GA), was interrupted during a town hall on transportation.  Based on the video, it appears he became overly sensitive and defensive over the health care discussion when some interrupted him.  I’m assuming the interruption was annoying because in one part of the video, you can hear applause from some in the crowd after Scott speaks.  He went on what looked like a health care rant and accusing some in the crowd of hijacking the event.  I won’t even bother to defend his actions since the video doesn’t show all of what has taken place, but I think I’m correct to assume he was ranting and over-reacting,

All he did was accuse some in the crowd of hijacking the town hall.  I’d like to know how that is cause for someone to vandalize his office with a giant swastika.  Apparently when a democrat like Pelosi says that anti-health care protesters are un-American, the worst she gets is protesters outside the event.  But when you’re a democrat like Scott and simply say people were hijacking a forum, then your consequence is that you get vandalized.

Apparently there’s a racial component to these some of these protesters.  Not like Rep. Scott didn’t have something to be worried about anyways.  There’s countless of youtube videos showing how these anti-health care reform protesters are actually attempting to hijack these events and stop discussion on health care reform all together.

Guy Brings Gun To Pres. Obama’s Town Hall

Completely inappropriate to say the least.  Pres. Obama held a town hall meeting today in New Hampshire.  A protester carrying a sign that said, quoted from a Jefferson line of, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants” was carrying a gun.  Here’s a clip of the guy,

I understand it’s his right to carry this gun, but it’s very stupid that he couldn’t be removed.  In this day and age and knowing the history of this country, he should have been removed from the property.  If he was one of those screaming idiots at the town hall, I would be even more worried.  He may have been under surveillance but it only takes a couple of seconds to pull the trigger.  It just baffles me that this guy was allowed to be there.  And we don’t even know if the guy was still around when Pres. Obama arrived.

Congressman Receives Death Threat Over Health Care

Another sign the fringe elements have gone too far.  From TPM,

Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC) will not be hosting any town hall events this August — instead, he’s making himself available to constituents for one-on-one meetings about health care reform — and at least part of the reason is this: His offices have received threatening phone calls, including at least one direct threat against his life.

“We had no town hall events scheduled for the August recess anyway, but in light of everything that’s happened — we have received a threatening phone call in the D.C. office, there have been calls to the Raleigh office,” said Miller communications director LuAnn Canipe, in an interview with TPM. The threatening call in question happened earlier this week.

I can only assume this will get worse.  If this is the latest organized strategy of anti-health care fringe mobs then this is scary.  Can’t win with their arguments against health care so they stop discussion all together.

Steele Can’t Take Criticism, Re-routes Angry Calls To DNC

After the DNC posted the ad, “Enough of the Mob”, the RNC started to receive angry phone calls about concerns over the angry mobs.  Apparently, RNC chairman, Michael Steele got sick of the criticism and re-routed the angry calls over to the DNC.  Steele took full credit for the re-routing of calls,

The RNC redirected these calls from its main switchboard over to the DNC’s switchboard — a response, said Steele, to the White House arrogantly blaming regular Americans “like my mother, like my sister” for the health care impasse.

“I thought it was a good idea,” Steele said. “Don’t sit there and think you’re going to direct a bunch of angry liberals to call the RNC when I know full well what that’s all about. I get the joke. My response was, talk to your own party, because they’re the ones ginning this up.”

First, how would Steele know if these are only liberals calling.  There’s republicans also worried about these fringe mobs.  For the most part, Americans in general aren’t keen on fringe mobs.  If these were liberals, they’re still citizens of the U.S. and they should be able to voice their concern.  He’s basically suppressing their freedom of speech.  Not only that, but many of these liberals live in republican districts and are thus a constituents of GOP congressmen.

This may lead to a broader point as to why the republican party doesn’t get it.  No decent person likes the fringe mobs but they’re being supported by republican activist groups.  The failure to listen to criticism only shows the lack of understanding at where the country is.  We want solutions, we don’t want game playing with phone lines and fringe mobs that want to obstruct discussion.

Right-Wing Mob Physically Assaults Congressman

Things appear to be getting out of hand (report @ Think Progress).  Ya’ know, this kind of makes me want to remind people of that DHS report warning against right wing extremist.  Well, I kind of already reminded you.  Anyway, it’s a matter of time before someone gets badly hurt all because right wing fringe lunatics don’t want people to have affordable health care or they believe that Obama wasn’t born in America.  If you don’t support health care then that’s fine, but lets have a respectful debate, not physically attack people because you can’t argue your point effectively.  I suggest top republicans speak out against this soon because this is going to hurt the republican party.
