DNC Slams GOP Leaders, Fringe Mobs In New Ad

Posted on

The democrats are starting to call out these mobs of fringe lunatics and the republicans that do nothing.   This new ad goes after the fringe of the republican party that wants to disrupt town hall meetings with their conspiracy theories.  The people that are going to protesting congressmen in districts they don’t even live in to give the appearance of outrage over health care.  The people that simply yell during town halls because they don’t want a discussion on health care.  They know that the more people learn about Obama’s health care plan the more they are likely to support it and these lunatics don’t want that.  Also goes after the republicans that would like to see Obama and the country fail instead of bring solutions to the table.   Here’s the new DNC web ad appropriately called, “Enough of the Mob”.

Recommended Reads: Birther Meltdown and Political Strategies

Posted on

Though technically more like recommended watches and reads.  Enjoy.

The birthers are still looking and sounding crazy.  My favorite meltdown (this week…so far) came from the birther “attorney/dentist/something else” Orly Taitz.  In this clip, besides acting crazy, she says “who cares about Ann Coulter”.  I’d agree with her but apparently a lot of republicans don’t.  She also says, “85% of Americans think Barack Obama was not properly vetted”.  Even if that was true, that has nothing to do with his birth certificate.  Anyway, here’s the clip,

Next, Media Matters created this Lou Dobbs Birther Ad, requesting CNN show some journalistic integrity. CNN isn’t going to air the ad.  Not a surprise but I’d like to see how CNN handles this when they see Lou Dobbs’ ratings fall faster.

Political strategy for the GOP?  Target white voters? Are you surprised?  I hope not.  We can see it by the daily actions of GOP congressman.  They feed into the birthers theory, mentioning succession, opposing Sotomayor for no reason and constantly attacking her for a statement they took out of context.

The White House strategy?  To debunk the rumors.

The other strategy is to call out the birthers and republicans that form mobs and disrupt town halls what they really are, fringe.  Even Glenn Beck is asking his viewers to not get violent.  Apparently he recognizes the fringe type nature of some of his rightwing fans.

DNC is blaming this on the GOP for instigating these fringe mobs.  They definitely have a point seeing as how many in the GOP aren’t doing anything to stop it and some support the birthers movement.  About time someone shows some leadership and put an end to this.  But to be fair, SRCC Alexander (R-TN) did say he doesn’t approve of the disruption of dem townhalls.  But I don’t know if anyone can stop these whackos, who aren’t even living in the districts they protest, following a script on how to disrupt the townhalls, simply yelling for no reason.  Here’s footage of the protests shown on Countdown,

Oh, The Irony: McCain Opposes Sotomayor

Posted on

McCain will vote “no” on Sotomayor for Supreme Court Justice.  He said,

mccain7An excellent resume and an inspiring life story are not enough to qualify one for a lifetime of service on the Supreme Court.  Those who suggest otherwise need to be reminded of Miguel Estrada.  Mr. Estrada also was a supremely qualified candidate.  And he too has an incredible life story.

Lets think about this for a minute.  This guy basically wanted the American people to vote for him because he has a great life story.  War veteran, tortured, survived, became politician and married a wife who has a beer fortune.  His campaign strategy was about his life story, he couldn’t go more than two commercials without hearing his life story.  Next, he beat everyone in the head with how much “experience” he had over now Pres. Obama.

And what the hell about Sarah Palin?  He’s essentially saying he wouldn’t hire Sotomayor for supreme court justice, but are we expected to think that he is good at hiring people.  Sarah Palin lacked experience greatly and she hasn’t progressed, she has only fallen down off her shiny red pedestal since the election.  I can only hope that someone, somewhere would take McCain’s hiring advice and run the opposite direction.

The Economy Shows More Signs Of Improvement

Posted on

Just want to point out that the economy is improving.  Last week, the DOW finally closed above 9000. Today, the DOW has closed best in July since 20 years.  There was a 9% increase.

Also, the GDP is falling “slower” than before.  Or you can essentially say the GDP is increasing,

Real gross domestic product fell at a 1.0% annualized rate in the second quarter, compared with an average 5.9% drop over the past two quarters.

Now here’s Obama’s take on some of the economic improvement and weekly address below,

President Barack Obama says the $787 billion economic stimulus program he enacted within weeks of taking office is helping the economy begin to pull itself out of the recession.

The Commerce Department reported Friday that the economy contracted at a pace of just 1 percent in the second quarter. The showing was better than economists expected and the strongest signal yet that the recession is winding down.

Obama told reporters that some of that progress is “directly attributable” to the stimulus program. He says that and other “difficult but important steps” his administration has taken over the last six months have helped “put the brakes on the recession.”
