Rep. Ted Poe Thinks Illegal Immigrants Are Illegal Grasshoppers

Posted on

Yes, in his bid to convince the house we need to gather illegal immigrants and send them home, he compares them to grasshoppers entering the country illegally.  The rationale for this is also strange.  He says,

Now it seems to me that if we are so advanced with technology and manpower and competence that we can capture illegal grasshoppers from Brazil, in the holds of ships that are in a little small place in Port Arthur, Texas on the Sabine River……

If we’re able to do that as a country, how come we can’t capture the thousands of people that cross the border everyday on the southern border of the United States?….

I mean, not to get technical here, but there’s a big difference between the “holds of ships” and the whole Mexico-US border.  Also, those grasshoppers are in a confined place, and only takes a few people to capture.  Now, this is just me attempting to make rational discussion of his stupid illegal immigrant-illegal grasshopper rationale.  Here’s the video, enjoy.

At least he’s raising awareness about illegal Brazilian grasshoppers. Those bastards!

Fox News Uses Mushroom Cloud To Overdramatize Obama’s Nuke Deal

Posted on

For those that missed it, Obama signed a nuclear arms pact with Russian Pres. Medvedev.  By most accounts, it’s a pretty straight forward reasonable pact.  However, this is an issue that republicans plan to use against Pres. Obama…of course at their own peril.   On to Fox News, which as we all know, not real news, but instead a republican propaganda machine.  So they previewed their upcoming talk about Obama singing the nuke pact with Russia.  Of course, not without some over-dramatic phrases like, “Until it’s too late” oh and let’s not forget the ultimate image of fear…the mushroom cloud.

Gotta love these over-dramatic effects.  Fox News is becoming not only a propaganda machine, but something of the cartoonishly fake nature in appearance.  This is supposed to be a news channel? Please…

Palin Agrees Republicans Are Party Of No

Posted on

So superstar Sarah Palin went stumping for our favorite whackjob Michele Bachmann (R-MN).  She gave the crowd what they wanted to hear.  Even proved to them that she can spell “Hell”.  Then Palin goes on to say they’re the party of No, mainly No to Pres. Obama.  I find this weird since the majority of Americans voted for Pres. Obama, I really don’t see how this message reaches beyond the far right who either voted for McCain/Palin or didn’t vote because McCain was too far “left” by republican standards.

I’m wondering how many actual important party republicans are shaking their heads.  Pretty sure they don’t want the Party of No meme to stick to them.  The truth is that Palin for once is exactly right.  No matter what Pres. Obama does, whether talking to school kids about education and staying in school or something like health care reform.  Whether we’ve seen on the scale going from innocent to controversial topics, republicans oppose any and everything Pres. Obama does.  Kind of like crying wolf, sooner or later, people wont believe what you say anymore.
