Beck Rally Goers Don’t Like Questions From “People Like You”

Posted on

“People Like You” is the phrase one lady in the following video used to describe people who ask questions about their opinions.  Apparently Tea Baggers do not like questions when it makes their views looks incorrect.  A guy interviewed Beck Rally goers to know their views, here’s the reactions he got.

A verbal confrontation at the rally was caught on tape.  This is the description of what happened, via Examiner,

A person interviewing an Indiana man dressed in colonial-era attire was confronted by members of the crowd who appeared to be upset with the questions being asked. During the short verbal skirmish that ensued, one man bullied the interviewer with support from a few onlookers, while others sought to diffuse the situation (see video).  Ultimately, things cooled down and the incident ended peacefully.

Ironic how the people who show up to these rallies only care about people’s Constitutional Rights when it agrees with their biased opinions.

The complete lack of comprehension and irony in their views is funny at times, but very sad.  They fail to see the irony in supporting a republican that did the same things they are now attacking Pres. Obama for.  They constantly accuse liberals of not supporting the Constitution but they attack others for expressing their Constitutional rights.  Bottom line, if the Tea Partiers don’t like it, then it’s wrong.  If you do everything Tea Partiers want you to do then you’re a Real American.

Glenn Beck Wore Bullet Proof Vest At His Own Rally

Posted on

Here’s the video of Glenn Beck explaining how he had to wear a bullet proof vest at his own rally.

correction, as noted, video was from a few months ago, however after doing a search, he still wore a bullet proof vest to the rally.  Pointed out by a blogger on Politicususa.

I’m still a reasonable person even if it’s in Glenn Beck’s case.  If the FBI told him to wear a vest, then fine.  Since his story is not confirmed (yet), it’s extremely egotistic to wear a vest thinking his message will incite someone to care enough to shoot him.  His rally was nothing more than a overdone church service.  He is not in the same category as MLK.

Or, maybe he could have truly been scared of his rightwing fans.  They are pretty much on fringe and have been known to carry guns to harmless events.  And who knows, one could get so rejoiced by the holy ghost, they’ll just start popping off.  I would imagine it’s not unheard of.

Either way, the irony is strong…

Lazio Get Slammed For Scare Tactics

Posted on

Rick Lazio, Republican candidate for Governor of New York has been trying to run an aggressive scare tactic campaign now that he’s way behind in the polls.  He appeared on Hardball and got slammed by Chris Matthews for lying in his ads.

This issue of a “Mosque” (technically it’s a community center) being “at” Ground Zero (technically a few blocks away from Ground Zero) has been used as a scare tactic by republicans.  Republicans can’t run tough campaigns unless they can scare the public into thinking Democrats want to hurt them.  Same story here.

Lazio thinks he can scare New Yorkers into thinking his opponent, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo sympathizes with a terrorist sympathizer is like grasping at straws that don’t exist.  I hope New Yorkers can see past the lies.  And I think Chris Matthews did a wonderful job at exposing these campaign tactics.

Video: Sasha Scores A Hole-In-One

It’s been quite a long time since this blog has posted anything Obama Family related.  So, to make up for my failures, here’s a great video of Sasha Obama scoring a hole-in-one while playing mini-golf.  Most of us can only dream we were this awesome.

Republicans Push To Change The 14th Amendment

Posted on

I must say that I’m rather surprised republicans would actually want to change the Constitution. After their constant incorrect criticism of Democrats being against the Constitution, it seems rather hypocritical.   The reason republicans want to change the Constitution is because it’s an election season and they pander to their base on this issue. First lets take a look at what a couple of the top republicans said, here’s John Boehner on Meet The Press,

Next, Rep. Phil Gingrey supports changing the 14th amendment oh Hardball

Congressman Brian Bilbray even at one point mentions rich illegal immigrants having children in the US.

Considering all the concerns illegal immigration can be solved without changing the amendment.  Like Rep. Gutierrez said on Hardball, these issues can be solved with enforcing the immigration laws.  Republicans don’t want to do that now, since election time is approaching, they would rather nothing gets done in Washington.

Attacking the children of illegal immigrants wont stop illegal immigrations.  Doesn’t even make sense.  Immigrants don’t come to America just to plop their kids in America and leave them here with no resources.  They come to America because of jobs.  We need to start enforcing laws that prohibit the hiring of illegal immigrants.

Changing the 14th amendment this way would only increase the number of undocumented illegal immigrants.  Not only would Mexicans be hurt, but any person in America with at least one parent who came here as an illegal immigrant, including some politicians like republican Bobby Jindal.  Imagine all the crap most Americans would have to go through just to prove they are American.  Technically everyone except, Native Americans, are all children of immigrants.

Let’s look at the part of the 14th amendment republicans want to change, “all persons born or naturalized in the United States”.  Think about if that wasn’t apart of the Constitution…it opens the door for more government control.  Not to get into a slippery slope scenario, but why even open that can of worms up?

It even seems rather odd that republicans like Lindsey Graham and John McCain are pushing for a 14th amendment change.  These two have been staunchly for fair immigration reform and haven’t been in full lockstep with the republican party….

Lesson to  learn here is that the republicans only love the Constitution…except when it goes against their personal political agendas.  This issue is being brought up now because it’s purely for political and 2010 election reasons.  I hope people can see through the foolery.

Palin Uses Palm Notes And Still Fails

Posted on

I don’t really understand Sarah Palin. Sure, she’s not that smart, I think even her conservative fans understand that. But she used prepared notes and still failed at talking on the subject of Bush Tax Cuts for the rich.

Issue number one is that she lied about what’s actually being proposed and what the tax cuts actually cost, according to Think Progress via PEW,

For one thing, according to the Pew Economic Policy Group, an extension of all of the Bush tax cuts will cost $3.1 trillion over ten years, once the costs of servicing the debt are factored in. But no one has proposed allowing them all expire, and it’s incredibly disingenuous of Republicans to claim otherwise, especially since it was a budget gimmick by former President George W. Bush to include the ten-year sunset at all.

Issue number two is that, she is one of the rich people! Of course she’s going to protect her assets by bashing Pres. Obama.  Anyone that can’t see through this foolery, is sick.

I don’t think many expect her to be smart and a policy wonk, but we should expect her to be.  She was a freaking Governor at one point til she quit.  I find it hard to believe that she even believes the crap she spews.  If she was so passionate about the issue, why can’t she recall her cheap talking points off the top of her head?  And why does she have to lie?

Her true lack of understanding and complete inarticulate way of talking disgusts me.  But, I shake my head more at the conservatives that feed into this woman.
