Update: Rand Paul’s CurbStomper Is A Campaign Coordinator

Posted on

Tim Profitt, now former campaign coordinator for Rand Paul, the man that stomped on a Rand Paul protester was ordered to court.  Via MSNBC,

Paul’s campaign dropped Profitt as campaign coordinator in Bourbon County in central Kentucky and banned him from future events.

Lexington Division of Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Tuesday that officers will deliver a summons to Profitt to appear in court. A judge will determine whether to proceed with an assault case.

Profitt said the fight never would have occurred if police officers had intervened earlier.

A friend of mine went up to three policeman before Rand got there, and told them about the girl who was standing there with that wig on and that she was getting ready to do something,” Profitt said. “The policemen looked at him and said that’s not our job.”

So, Tim says, “the fight never would have occurred if police officers had intervened earlier.”.  Yeah, so I guess Profitt should have told the police officers to remove him from the event.  Apparently it didn’t cross Profitt’s or any of the other mobsters that it’s just an overall not good idea to shove someone to the ground and stomp on them.  Pretty high and mighty of tea baggers to think so highly of a lowly candidate for senate like Rand Paul; to think this woman in a blonde wig holding a sign would even bother to get “ready to do something” to Rand Paul.

Tim Profitt wasn’t just another campaign worker, he was one of Rand Paul’s most cherished workers.  Think Progress shows a newspaper clip of Rand Paul endorsing Tim Profitt and his work.

The young woman Lauren Valle, who had her head stomped on, gives a little more detail on what happened, via HuffPo,

I have been at a bunch of events before, the previous debate, and the Rand Paul campaign knows me and they have expressed their distaste for my work before. What happened last night was that about five minutes before Rand Paul’s car arrived they identified me and my partner, Alex, who was with me. They surrounded me. There was five of them. They motioned to each other and got behind me. My partner Alex heard them say ‘We are here to do crowd control we might have to take someone out.’
When Rand Paul’s car arrived a couple of them stepped in front of me so I stepped off the curb to get around them to get back out front. At that point they started grabbing for me and I ran all the way around the car with them in pursuit. The footage is after I’ve run all the way around the car and I’m in front of the car and that is when they took me down. One or two people twisted my arms behind my back and took me down… It was about two-to-three seconds after that that another person stomped on my head. And I lay there for 20 seconds or so and my partner Alex came and got me up and that’s the point where there is the media clip of me speaking.

What a shame, lets hope justice is served.

Video: Rand Paul’s Tea Party Mob Stomps Woman

update: Rand Paul’s stomper reveals himself

Really a shame in America that people can’t protest without being beat on and stomped to the ground by a mob.  Rand Paul (R-KY), another Tea Party candidate, was going to debate Conway and a protester, was simply protesting, when Tea Partiers through the woman on the ground and stomped on her head and shoulders.

The woman has reportedly suffered from a concussion and sprained shoulder, via WaPo,

She has told MoveOn officials that she suffered a concussion and sprained shoulder and arm, a MoveOn spokesperson confirms.

The woman, Lauren Valle of MoveOn, had approached Paul and tried to give him an “employee of the month” award from a fake company called Republicorp, when Paul supporters dragged her to the ground and stepped on her head and shoulder.

Ilyse Hogue, a spokesperson for MoveOn, says she spoke with Valle this morning, and that Valle confirmed the injuries to her. She has been released from the hospital, Hogue said.

Paul’s campaign released a statement last night denouncing the episode as “incredibly unfortunate,” claiming that “violence of any kind has no place in our civil discourse” and adding: “We are relieved to hear that the woman in question was not injured.”

Rand Paul, may not have been involved directly but politicians have a duty to show leadership and create an environment that is welcoming of all sides of the debate.  Rand Paul however, through his rhetoric has created a hostile environment.

I also think it’s ironic that Tea Partiers say they love America and the constitution but time and time again treat others with different opinion in a crude way.  I’m not even a fan of the Moveon organization but no matter what side of the fence we are one, it is her constitutional right to be able to protest.  The Tea Party should be proud to see that we can act out our constitutional right.  But now, instead of debating the issues they would rather yell at, shove to the ground, and stomp whoever has a different opinion, even if you’re a woman.  What is sad is that I’m not even surprised they would do such a thing.  Hopefully come November Americans will vote for candidates who do not affiliate with groups of this mob like mentality.  Just know if you disagree with Rand Paul then his Tea Party goons will make sure to put you in your place.

Racially Biased Alert: Georgia Councilman John Williams

Posted on

Councilman John Williams of Warner Robins, GA told fellow councilman Daron Lee that he should work in a cotton field.  Here’s the video, warning poor audio, but the video gives more background then what you’ll see on CNN.

Here’s the CNN clip,

I would recommend those in Warner Robins, GA consider getting new councilman the next time they vote.  Cities cannot make progress when there’s racial tensions like these.  This is 2010, lets move forward, lets grow up.
