Poll: Donald Trump Now #2 Among 2012 GOP Candidates

Posted on

Oh, what a lovely time to be a democrat.  The republican party could possibly put forth Donald Trump as their party nominee in 2012.  I surely hope the rise of Donald Trump continues.

The newest WSJ/NBC poll puts Donald Trump at second place tied with Mike Huckabee among the GOP field contenders for 2012.

With Donald Trump mainly focusing on the birther issue, it is not surprising that republicans are in love with him.  They crave any conspiracy theory and they would love a reason to easily beat Pres. Obama by default because they truly have no good candidates that can win a fair election right now.

But with the public attitudes of the republican and tea party being at a real low, they will need more dirty tricks to try to win an election.

While, for right now, Pres. Obama’s approval rating in this poll is 49 approve, 45 disapprove.  Congress has a 73 disapproval rating.

Here’s Trump this morning on the Today show,

2012 looks like it’s going to be an exciting election :) can’t wait!

  1. Yeah, but I think he’s a flash-in-the-pan kind of candidate. He might get some buzz right now, but I don’t see him being around by South Carolina, much less Super Tuesday.

Rudy Giuliani was really popular for a while, too, and was ranked #1 in a few polls at different times. Remember Fred Thompson? Yeah … I don’t, either, but the name sort of rings a bell.

On the other hand, I do think that this whole thing is a sad statement on the state of the GOP. Pres. Obama is vulnerable, but instead of putting forward a decent candidate, they’re more or less determined to advance the weirdos.

    • I don’t know, I actually see Trump staying about longer. Giuliani and Thompson didn’t have a big voice compared to Trump. They also didn’t fret or venture much into the birther argument. And seeing as how Trump is a media whore. I reckon he’ll try his hardest to stay in the media.

oh another note, I think Huckabee will end up like Fred Thompson did in 2008.

        • How is it a good time to be a democrat? Not only did republicans take over the House, but Obama is not doing jack sh*t. Trump being for legalizing marijuana also will draw a much wider voting specturm.

          • What I was saying is that if Donald Trump were to be the GOP candidate, it would be a great day to be a Democrat. In other words, it’d be an easy win. Unless, as I said above, the idiots all came out to vote again, like happened here in California with the Gubernator.

As to today, while I tend to be critical of The President more often than not on my blog, there have certainly been worse times to be a Democrat. Say, during the Bush administration – either of them, or during the Reagan era.

            Just wanted to clarify.

          • How is Obama not doing anything? The economy is like a rolling ball and once Bush pushed it down a mountain, people don’t understand how difficult it is to reverse it and become disappointed without their incessant need for instant gratification. Nonetheless, employment has steadily increased for 22 months now under Obama.

Also, I can’t imagine how some people don’t see Trump for his ruthless big business. Trump is the least charitable billionaire, and the most demonstrably interested in profit and control.
