So everyone is talking about how Pres. Obama graded himself a B+ for this first year in his administration.  Many say it should be lower, some say higher, some just say incomplete.  I think B+ is sufficient for this year though, I’d probably give Obama a B(-), but it depends on where you stand on certain issues.  I would have preferred to see more done on Climate Change but I’m happy with the effort put into stimulating the economy, though more could have been done.  Unfortunately since we do have a two-party system, the stimulus couldn’t have everything that dems would have put in it to move the process faster but nonetheless the rate of unemployment is slowing.  The issue of Afghanistan from my view was handled well.  Also, I’m happy with the work Joe Biden has done in getting out the message and being there but not in an overbearing controlling way like Dick Cheney was.

So, now it’s the GOP’s turn.  What should their grade be?  They were the party of “NO” throughout this whole year.  They couldn’t find a clear message for most of the year until health care became a huge issue.  Now their message is a cross between “you lie!” and random conspiracy theories.  Their party leaders for this year have been, Limbaugh then Glenn Beck.  As far as substance, the party has failed, I can’t think of anything they haven’t obstructed and anything they have done to better America.  Then when they tried to put out an economic plan, the plan included no numbers of estimates.  They also tried to put out a health care plan, the plan included no cost estimates.

I’d give the GOP a gracious “D”.

In today’s irrelevant, yet opportunistic time to show him falling from grace via .GIF file, Fidel Castro made it his business to tell us that Obama’s smile can’t be trusted.  This is via Reuters,

In a letter read by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at a gathering of leftist leaders in Havana, Castro said the United States was backing rightist movements in a bid to weaken Chavez and other regional socialist leaders.

“The empire’s real intentions are obvious, this time beneath the kindly smile and African American face of Barack Obama,” Castro’s letter said.

“The empire is mobilizing behind rightist forces in Latin America to strike Venezuela and, in doing so, strike (other leftist) states,” the letter said.

Oh sure, like Castro would know anything about being trustworthy.  A tyrant dictator that stole elections and had a repressive regime, that’s a sure sign of trustworthness.   Basically Castro is saying the U.S. is using Cold War style tactics to move out of the leftist of Latin America.  The way I see it, this is just a conspiracy theory.  It’s actually a very plausible scenario but until then, I just enjoy seeing Castro’s slow fall to irrelevancy.

I suppose Teabaggers could be correct in saying they aren’t the raciest.  I mean, even though they call themselves teabaggers (very misleading), they are pretty old and I doubt they can actually teabag.  They’re far from being racy.  I’m also slightly curious why it appears to be an accent mark over “We” in the second “sentence”…is that British?  Are these secretly British people trying to disrupt the health care debate…?  Also, why is there an extra space between “Nor” and “puppets-”.    Based on the likelihood of creating typos, was that extra space meant to be filled to create the word “Norway”….? Also where’s the consistency?  Why use the word’s “I DO” instead of “We DO”.  Whoever was paid good money to make this sign must be a narcissist…

I must admit it’s one of the funniest parts about Bill O’Reilly’s, War On Christmas, segments.  This one he talks about Atheists timing to put up an anti-god/christian poster on buses and bus stops.  Then my favorite part comes towards the end where O’Reilly explains why he thinks Atheists are doing this.

I don’t think Atheists are jealous of the holidays but I bet they’re watching Bill Maher that night lol.  Though, like I’ve said before, this War On Christmas thing that O’Reilly has should be taken with a grain of salt and laughed at.  FNC is purely for entertainment purposes.

So  there was a back and forth between Robert Gibbs (White House Press  Secretary) and April Ryan (Reporter for American Urban Radio).  Ryan asked a question about Desiree Rogers’ role at the State Dinner and whether she was over-shadowing Michelle Obama or overstepping her role.  Gibbs practically tried to blow off the question and Ryan kept pressing him.  Then Gibbs continues to be condescending and compare her to his child.

On the issue of the question, this is just another reporter trying to blame Desiree Rogers for what the Secret Service did wrong.  Also, this is a highly unimportant issue right now.  At the same time, if there is a concern about her over-stepping her role and not doing her job then it’s the reporters job to ask that question and Gibbs should respect that.  Blowing her off by comparing her to his kids is extremely offensive to someone who has such an important job.  With that said, there’s clearly a double standard (I’ll admit) as I didn’t write a post about Gibbs being condescending to the other male reporters in the room.  Then again, he never compared them to his child.

Ryan asked a legitimate question and Gibbs completely failed to answer the question.  Maybe he didn’t know the answer, but if he did then clearly an answer would have made this situation a lot better.  But as a reporter, Ryan lost on this one, she has to chop it up as a loss.  Reporters don’t always get their questions answered completely, especially not from Press Secretaries.  The fact that she was very “attitudey” from the beginning didn’t help either.

On the other hand, comparing her to a child is completely disrespectful and I’ve never heard him refer to another reporter as a child.  I think Gibbs should apologize to her for being clearly disrespectful.

So, I go over to my YouTube subscriptions and see this lovely video of Sarah Palin supporters being interviewed outside Borders for her book signing, then I check my email to find a person that has visited my blog thinks I’m attacking Palin supporters. I said, damn right I’m going after Palin supporters cause they’re stupid enough to buy into her BS.   Why would I blame Palin for trying to make money off idiots, that’s capitalism, right?

So, Inhofe (R-OK) told Boxer (D-CA) that, “we won, you lost, get a life”.

In my opinion, if that line applies to democrats when discussing climate change, then that line should apply to republicans in most if not all the issues brought to the forefront.  We won, you lost the election, get over it.  That means, we get the best health care bill through, that means, we get immigration taken care of…etc,.  Inhofe has no business throwing about that line if he doesn’t want it to apply to his party of “No”.

Maybe that’s something else republicans should take into account.

A recent poll came out showing the majority of republicans think ACORN stole the election for then candidate Barack Obama.  They must be forgetting that we were fighting two wars, the economy was in the tank, gas prices were $3+ and George Bush’s ratings were in the gutter.  Lets not forget that McCain was a poor candidate, and sure he was doing well at one point, but that ended with the introduction of Sarah Palin.  She scared a lot of people and sort of proved that America doesn’t accept this form of extreme conservatism.  Now I’m no fan of ACORN but, considering the margin by which Obama won and the fact that republicans can’t provide any evidence ACORN was able to steal the election for Obama, my only conclusion is that the republican party is delusional.

Instead of scapegoating ACORN for all of their failures, how about improving the party.  Clearly the party is failing on many levels.  With the fracture in the party, (moderate) republicans verses conservatives (or moderate versus extremists), it’s clear the party of No hasn’t done much to improve itself.  To this day you even have conservative like Hoffman (NY-23 candidate) blaming ACORN for winning the election for Owens.  Just like Sarah Palin, NY-23 rejected his extremist conservatism.  That’s the problem, extreme conservatism.  Just look at the failures of the republican party this year,

• Republicans alternative economic plan contained few numbers or estimates
• Republican alternative health care plan savings weren’t estimated because they don’t know how to calculate that under CBO rules
• Public doesn’t have any idea what their health care plan is…probably because they were too busy yelling
• Teabaggers invade street corners with racist and offensive signs and then screaming racist insults.
• Michael Steele constantly fails the republican party with his constant gaffes about race and couldn’t even stand up to Limbaugh
• Obviously over-exaggerated outrage over Obama’s education speech, health care commercials and the president bowing in respect to foreign leaders
• GOP sides with insurance companies which have made a fool of themselves throughout the summer and only made their customers mad.

This is only a short list of the crap that happened over the summer and feel free to add to this list of failures.  My suggestion is that the republicans look at themselves and realize ACORN didn’t and doesn’t need to steal the election for democrats.  Republicans are did a good job at keeping democrats in office.

So Sarah Palin helped to create this fringe mob that has now turned on her for not signing their books.  Just like most of the jobs Palin had, she quit book signing before the job was done.  She had like 300 more books to sign, and she even made the rightwing nutjob’s kids cry cause their rightwing lunatic fringe of a parent made them stand outside for 3 hours in rain just so their rightwing nutjob overzealous fan of a parent can get his book signed by Lord Palin.  This is from, theindychannel,

“We gave up our entire workday, stayed in the cold. My kids were crying,” said one man. “They went home with my wife. She was out here in the freezing cold all day. I feel like I don’t want to support Sarah.”

For those who did get to meet Palin, no personal signatures or pictures were allowed. Those who didn’t get their books signed went home only with a piece of paper with Palin’s signature.

Julie Beightler Doll Went to the book signing in Noblesville, IN. Waited three hours in the cold to get a wristband to reserve my spot at the book signing tonight. We were told she would sign book for the first 1000 people. Not so. The event ended promptly at 9:00pm, though there were still at least 150 people left. Wasted my day, wasted money on a babysitter, and wasted my money on this book.

ZOMG!! The Stans were out to stand in a long ass line to buy a book and see Sarah Palin.   Norah O’Donnell, from MSNBC had the displeasure of talking to a couple of airheads in line.  Check out the girl, when asked about Sarah Palin’s policy she answers, “the constitution”….and she’s completely confused about whether Palin was for the bailout.  We now know the generic answer when you ask a conservative a question…”the constitution”,
