Well, it’s a year that I and this blog have been online. I’d like to quickly recap the year in this anniversary-like post. It was during the 2008 election and I thought Obama was going to win, so most of my post consisted of me asking why Hillary hasn’t dropped out of the race yet! Once the math wasn’t in her favor I transitioned into focusing more on McCain versus Obama. Obama won, yay! Here’s some stats of this blog and below that I’ve created a video.
Notables:
Made the front page of Digg.com front page “Obama Staffer Effectively Debunks McCain Ad”
Digg.com, TPM post and Michael Moore’s for the post – Video: McCain “Americans Won’t Pick Lettuce for $50/hr”. And some other notable I can’t remember right now, hey, it was a long campaign season ![]()
Good times, good stuff here. Some of the fun things here was doing “live blogging” or a variation of that working within the wordpress parameter. My favorite live blogging post was during the 3rd debate between Obama and McCain. Mainly because the .gif and picture at the end of that post still makes me laugh. I’ve also done a series type post called “DWC Checklist 4 Change” there was 10 posts and it was to educate voters on the differences between Obama and McCain important issues as well as highlight their legislative experience on those topics.
The best part to me was the comments by the reader’s comments. Comments are what keeps me and some other bloggers wanting to blog more. Here I have always made it the case to post all comments whether they disagree with me or not. I now have a comment policy in place to set some parameters such as hateful language and spamming. I have also gotten a lot of e-mails from the readers. One e-mail consisted of 100 conspiracy theories about Obama, another recent one consisted of 77 sources about the government (I haven’t looked through all of it yet). I’ve also gone through back and forths with readers in e-mails about them questioning my motives as being part of the liberal media, though after the 3rd e-mail things got light and it appeared as though the person might have contemplated voting for Obama. Even if they didn’t I put that under the win column for me. I’ve also gotten lots of great threatening/violent e-mails…those are my favorites (sarcasm). I kind of think of it as going along with being a political blogger. The comments here have been more or less the same but nothing threatening but people who have called me and idiot and people who have thanked me for posting stuff. These are the blog posts that I think consisted of the most interesting comments,
Palin’s Church: Converting Gays and Speaking Tongues
Video: McCain “Americans Won’t Pick Lettuce for $50/hr”
Obama Staffer Effectively Debunks McCain Ad
OMG, Photo of Edwards with Love Child, In HOTEL
McCain Camp Throws a 61 yr old Lady out of his event
Whoa, McCain Just Agreed With Murtha, Western PA Racist
This year has been great and I would like to thank the readers, the writers here, and my blogger friends associated with this blog, all of which you can see their blogs by checking out my blogroll to your far right. Sensico will continue to thrive and now that it’s summer, that means I can blog aaaall day if I wanted. Here’s my random song for this day, It’s Not Over Yet by Klaxons
